Mr. Stephen Saunders is the Senior Executive Consultant and Chief Architect of CGI Inc.’s Global Health IT Practice. He is an expert in corporate management, business development and enterprise delivery. Mr. Saunders is currently responsible for providing CGI’s health IT leadership, portfolio development and/or delivery oversight in many of the world’s most significant health IT delivery projects, including several that place the citizen at the centre of care.

Prior to joining CGI in 2006, Mr. Saunders was the Chief Architect for EDS Canada’s Health IT Practice which spanned every jurisdiction in Canada.

In the last 25 years, Mr. Saunders has fulfilled the chief architecture role for teams working on enterprise interoperable Electronic Health Record (iEHR), Health Information Exchange (HIE), Drug Information System (DIS), Pharmacy, LAB, Diagnostic Imaging Repository/Picture Archiving and Communication System (DIR/PACS), Enterprise resource planning (ERP), Electronic Health Record (EHR), Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Data Warehouse (DW), Data Safety Monitoring (DSM), Clinical Business Intelligence (Clinical BI), Chronic Care, Collaborative Care and Deep Clinical/Clinical Viewer/Portal projects and implementations in a number of Canadian and International health care jurisdictions.

Mr. Saunders received his Bachelor of Science with Combined Honours in both Mathematics and Computer Science from Carleton University in 1985.
