Dr. Claude Lajeunesse is Corporate Director and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited. He also serves as Chair of the Human Resources and Governance Committee, and has served as Chair of the Science, Technology and Nuclear Oversight Committee.

Previously, Dr. Lajeunesse was the President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), President of Concordia University in Montréal, and President and Vice-Chancellor of Ryerson University in Toronto. He is also Past President and CEO of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), now called Universities Canada.

A native of Quebec City, Dr. Lajeunesse obtained a PhD and M.Sc. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, following a BScA in Engineering Physics from the École polytechnique de Montréal. He chaired the Green Aviation Research and Development Network (GARDN), a business-led Network of Centres of Excellence.

Dr. Lajeunesse was a member of the Boards of TD Melohe Monnex, the Montreal Board of Trade, SOFINOV (Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec), the Ontario Heritage Foundation, the Toronto Board of Trade and the Toronto East General Hospital. He is a Fellow and Past President of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
